Non Fiction Books about the Natural World
Here are the best non fiction books about the natural world that relate to the Pacific Northwest and the San Juan Islands Washington. Everything under the sun -- plants, animals, earth, water, sky -- we attempt to understand it all by observing and putting our thoughts onto paper. These books, guides, and manuals call attention to the natural world of the pacific northwest, from orcas and whales, to the night sky, tidepools, trees and edible plants.
General field guides are near the top, with the "Finders" about half way down. Mac's Field Guides are near the end, followed by a selection of Fandex guides, and then some cool nature photo postcards, and a tides calendar!
The important thing in science is not so much to obtain new facts as to discover new ways of thinking about them.
