Red Fox Facts

Here are a bunch of Red Fox facts that I find interesting. For one thing, they are pretty cute. They have a head like a dog but there is something about them that is cat-like!

They actually belong to the dog family, and, like dogs, they have almost unbelievable hearing. For example, they can hear a watch ticking from 40 yards away. Almost unbelievable, right?

But, like cats, they tend to play with their prey before killing it.

Foxes don't live long lives, averaging about three years, but in captivity some foxes have been known to live as long as 10.

They are quite fast runners, reaching speeds up to 30 mph. Cool!
