These San Juan Tours are remarkable guided explorations of three areas of San Juan Island terrain. Operated by the local company, Teranure Hiking Tours, the team or guide shows you along one of three tour locations, providing expertise and experience available nowhere else. The tours are two or three hours -- lunch is provided for three-hour hikes. The best of Washington hiking -- Highly recommended!

These islands showcase an abundance of plant and animal life seldom seen elsewhere, and often overlooked by most visitors. We offer guided tours into the heart of San Juan Island, revealing Old Growth forest, Gary Oak prairies and rocky shorelines, displaying some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. Explore natural history, sample edible and medicinal plants and learn about Island history & lore as our guides take you deep into hidden realms.



East Woods ~ $60
San Juan's northeast coast offers ideal growing conditions for a thriving Cascadian forest, showcasing giant trees and an abundance of understory life. From shoreline to primary forest, the East Woods is a quiet glimpse into a forest of the past.

Cady Mountain ~ $75
Cady Mountain presents possibly the best living stands of Old Growth forest, paired with outstanding Gary Oak savannah along the southern slopes. Explore gullies, streams, and vast showcases of seasonal wildflowers in the heart of the Island.

South Woods ~ $75
The southernmost tip of the Island provides a truly unique habitat in the San Juans, containing some of the greatest species diversity in the region. Hike along the slopes of Mt. Finlayson, down through transitional forests and along protected lagoons.

Tours are scheduled by appointment and available daily. Private group tours available. Tour vehicles leave From Friday Harbor, Roche Harbor, or elsewhere upon request. Meals are vegetarian unless otherwise requested.
